Our Story

Lanka plastic Industries commenced operations in 1995 as a small family run company manufacturing flexible packaging. Our primary focus was to make bags for the garment industries. After operating for a short while we realised that there was a big vacuum for flexible packaging products in the Sri Lankan market. We used this opportunity to develop the industry and invested in modern flexo printing and pouch making technology. In February 1998 we invested in our first CI Flexo Press in order to cater to the short and medium sized industries that were struggling to purchase high quality printed packaging that could only be produced by gravure presses. At the time this was the first machine of its kind in Sri Lanka.

In the 2003 we expanded our product range to making laminates and pouches. Since then we have regularly invested in the new technology focusing on sustainable packaging solutions. We have built strong relationships with our customers enabling them to source their packaging materials locally with minimum lead times. What makes Lanka Plastic Industries special is that we are still passionately and professionally family run business.
